Pulaski/White provides scholarships to one senior from each of its area high schools each school year.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior.
  • Live with parent(s) or legal guardian(s) that are members of the Cooperative.
  • Reside within the Pulaski/White exchange boundaries.
  • Plan to be a full-time student attending an accredited college or technical school.

To apply:

  • Complete the scholarship application in full. (When the scholarship year approaches, an application will be online.)
  • In a one-page essay, describe why this scholarship is important to you, why you want to attend college, and what you want to be doing in 10 years.
  • Applications are due by April 1 of the year the scholarship is to be awarded.

The award procedure:

  • Five scholarships may be awarded in 2011 – one per school district within the Cooperative’s boundaries. Those schools are North White, Pioneer, Twin Lakes,West Central and Winamac. In 2010, the scholarships were $1,000 each.
  • Winners will be selected by a qualified committee.
  • The scholarship presentation will be at the applicant’s school awards program.
  • The Board of Directors of Pulaski/White Rural Telephone Cooperative reserves the right to withhold any or all scholarships.

Payment of scholarships:

  • Payment will be provided to the successful applicant upon proof of registration to the school of the applicant’s choice.
  • The applicant should understand that if they drop out of school during the year in which they receive this scholarship, the will be asked to reimburse the money to Pulaski/White.

The Foundation for Rural Service

The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), in cooperation with the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA), seeks to sustain and enhance the quality of life throughout Rural America by advancing an understanding of rural telecommunications issues. Through its various programs and initiatives, the Foundation strongly supports the continuing education of rural youth.

When the 2011 eligibility guidelines, application instructions and terms and conditions are announced, they will be added to this site, along with a link to an application.
