Sisters of Service
Here at Buffalo Christian Church, we believe in service.
Jesus Himself told His apostles: "...whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." (Matthew 20:26-28).
If Jesus came to
serve, shouldn't we have the same
attitude, serving one another and
thereby showing one
another the hands and heart of
Jesus?
Of course we should!
This is why our ladies meet once a month to plan
and carry out the mission
of service.
What does service look like?
Well...
CarePackages for one thing!
Every year we send
care packages to our college
students and to the military service
men and
women
in our area. We want them to know that we
are
thinking of them and praying for
them
even if they cannot be with us.
And what's a care
package
without T ONS
of goodies?!?
The S.O.S.
ladies also take charge of the Thankoffering Dinner, which is an annual
event
here at BCC.
The Sunday before Thanksgiving, we like to take up a special offering. While we should be tithing each and every week as commanded in Malachi, this particular Sunday we like to give an extra "Thanks!" for all God does and has done in our lives.
We are so unbelievably grateful, how could we
not give an extra portion back?
Following
the service, the ladies of S.O.S.
prepare a
grand meal
for the
members and guests
here at
Buffalo.
And
what about our graduating seniors?
Let's face it. We're proud of our
kids!
And as Sisters of Service, we
like to show
it.
Is it high
school graduation time?
Then you can bet our ladies will be cookingup
one delicious breakfast for our seniors.
Have we exhausted the list yet? No way! These are just a few of the things our ladies here at Buffalo Christian Church like to do to serve others.
